Fire Protection
Scott Asprey, RIBA safety educator
Do you have a fire plan? Where are the fire extinguishers? How many do I need? Is there an evacuation plan and muster point have everyone sign in to establish a head count? These are questions that need to be asked before a fire happens so anyone exiting a building can clearly see clearly marked areas that are also free from any obstructions. Good housekeeping by all contractors and subcontractors is a primary key to reducing the possibility of a fire; however if one is to happen, you are ready!
For up to 3,000 square feet the following fire control systems need consideration:
OSHA regulations 1926.150 and 1926.25b
Remember all fire extinguishers need to be inspected every month and recorded and yearly inspection by outside party
