Free Education and other Member Resources
In a dramatic advance for our member benefit program in 2014, the Rhode Island Builders Association is now offering classes and seminars to members free of tuition charges. This will allow RIBA members and their employees to obtain free classes in industry-related subjects.
The program will encompass OSHA 10-Hour Certification, lead safety, licensing courses, classes on the codes, marketing, law, QuickBooks™, and anything else the association can put together to help members improve their businesses. In certain courses, there may be a charge for books or other materials. The free program does not include professional designations from the National Association of Home Builders, such as Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), Certified Green Professional (CGR), Graduate Master Remodeler (GMR) and others whose tuition is set nationally.
Please note that free tuitions will be available only to members and their employees, not subcontractors who are working for members but are not members themselves. Employment with a member will have to be verified. Members should register for the classes early, as this program is expected to be very popular.
The free education is possible because RIBA is putting all possible financial resources back into membership services. To keep programs like this available, members are asked to help grow the association by encouraging their colleagues to join. For more information on the education program, watch the Events Calendar, The Rhode Island Builder Magazine, or contact Bob Salvas at bsalvas@ribuilders.org.
RIBA offers many other valuable products and services to over 1,000 companies in the housing industry. Because there is strength in numbers, we are able to provide our growing list of members with a comprehensive package of benefits and services designed to help them build their business and increase their bottom line.
We encourage you to take advantage of the tremendous resources available to you as a member of the Rhode Island Builders Association. For more detailed information see Membership Benefits or contact us.
