Clean fresh air! Sometimes, we can take it for granted; however, on a job site the air in some cases is less then clean.
Did you know that respiratory protection was the seconded most cited violation in 2021? Well, it was and not just because of the pandemic.
NUISANCE DUST is the culprit. Nuisance dust, a regular construction dust, plugs your nose, causes you to cough or dry cough, and covers your face (you might look like frosty the snowman). These and any levels higher then 15mg/m3 need to be controlled. Check out the info. below…
1926.134 – providing the appropriate protection by use of a breathing apparatus for the work such as n95-n100 or canister respirators. However, use of these in certain conditions does require fit testing and possible medical examination.
